Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient healing art which has gained wide acceptance in
the United States over the past 20 years as research results have become
available. Very fine needles are inserted at specific points on the body
theoretically to stimulate, disperse or regulate vital energy. It is often
used for pain relief, for addiction cessation or to treat some acute, chronic
or degenerative conditions. A physician certified in its use will evaluate
your condition and begin treatment if appropriate.

BabyKind Family Affair:
Family Preparation For Siblings At Delivery
This individualized family class is for children who will be attending their
mother's labor and delivery. This one-time class prepapres your child /
children for the sights and sounds of childbirth. Class time includes a
lecture, demonstration, a movie showing the delivey of a new-born and a
tour of our birthing center. Parents, grand-parents and support persons
are welcome. Prior discussion / approval of physician or widwife is encouraged.

BabyKind Medela Breast Pump
Rental Station
An effective breast pump is essential for the woman returning
to work or otherwise separated from her infant. We have the Medela Classic,
Lactina, and Pump In Style pumps and supplies, such as nursing pads and
milk storage bags.

Biofeedback
A mind-body approach to health and stress mangement utilizing equipment
which monitors physical parameters and allows the individual to regulate
unhealthy physiological responses. This therapy is especially helpful for
conditions affected by stress such as pain issues, migraines, insomnia,
panic attacks, gastrointestinal issues, diabetes and fibromyalgia.

Holistic Health Assessment
This service includes a comprehensive assessment and health interview with
a trained holistic health partner. The Mercy Caring health risk appraisal
will be utilized with a personal health status report given. Plan on spending
an hour to an hour and a half to assess your well-being on a body, mind
and spirit perspective and creating an initial life health plan.

Holistic Nutrition Services
A Holistic Nutrition Consultant is available for one-on-one counseling to
discuss nutrition therapies that promote health, strengthen your immune
system and stimulate the body's natural healing ability. Emphasis is placed
on increased awareness of how food choices affect, and are affected, by
physical, emotional and spiritual issues.

Massage Therapy
Therapeutic massage is provided by licensed massage therapists to administer
various forms of therapeutic massage such as craniosacral therapy, myofascial
release and neuromuscular techniques. Massage decreases muscular tension
and relieves chronic pain and provides benefits for circulaory and lymph
systems. A massage therapy gift certificate makes a wonderful gift for any
occasion.

Certified couselors of Ohio Seniors Heath Insurance Information
Program (OSHIIP) are available from the GoldenLife offices. OSHIIP counselors
are responsible for providing information to older Ohioans about Medicare,
their health insurance options and appeal rights.

Smoking Cessation Consultation
This service is for the person who would like individual guidance and assistance
to become smoke or tobacco free. This includes a comprehensive indivualized
assessment of your current tobacco, lifestyle and health habits, along with
an individualized plan to assist in stopping smoking or tobacco use. The
consultation is with an RN qualified, smoking cessation specialist. Weekly
to monthly follow-up meetings recommended to re-assess and evaluate.

Health

by Sister Kathy Green, RSM, Regional Vice President Mission and Community

Side one guides listeners through relaxation techniques for the mind and
