This is Norm Roemer`s 1964 Ford stepside truck with a 3 speed on the column,engine is a 292 v-8. The truck was purchased from Wm Vaughn 3 years ago. It has an a-m radio and was repainted in the summer of 1996 back to its original color of carribian turquoise with a cream pearl accent scheme on the hood and fenders. The truck also has the original wooden bed, new tires and brakes. Norm has plans to refinish the wooden bed at a later date.

1964 Ford 1/2 -Ton F-100 Pickup

Ford light duty trucks received a new grille for 1964. It featured eight open rectangular stampings. Also, the Ford block letters above the grille were spaced a bit further apart. The cab roof was an inch higher. The three spoke steering wheel was color keyed . More padding was used in the seatback and four more pounds of insulation were added. Buyers could choose from the wood floor Flareside or steel floor two-piece Styleside. The latter had double-walled pickup box construction and a single, center-latched tailgatethat could easily be operated with one hand.The Flareside and the Styleside were offered in 6.5 ft. and 8 ft. versions. The new 128 in. wheelbase Styleside was designed in particular for pickup campers applications. VIN located on rating plate. The first three symboles indicated series: F10=F-100 (2X4) ; F11=F-100 (4X4). The fourth symbol indicates engine: J=223 cid six ; C=292 cid medium-duty V8 ; D=292 cid heavy-duty V8. The fifth symbol indicates assembly plant : A=Atlanta, Ga. ; D=Dallas, Texas ; E=Mahwah, N.J. ; G=Chicago, ILL. ; H=Lorain, Ohio ; K=Kansas City, Kan. ;L=Dearborn, Mich. ; ( Truck ) ; N=Norfolk,Va.; P=Twin Cities, Minn. ; R=San Joes, Calif. ; S=Allen Park, Mich. ; U=Louisville,Ky. ; The last six symboles indicate the sequential productions number.
